April 21, 2013

At approximately 0500hrs Whiting Vol Fire company was dispatched to a working structure fire at 3 unit D Valley Stream Drive in Whiting. Engine 3311 from Whiting along with Manchester Police was first on scene. Upon arriving on location all residents were evacuated. Heavy fire and smoke was protruding from the rear portion of the residence as well as the roof. Crews made entry into the four units and began suppression operations and were able to extinguish the blaze. Mutual aid Fire Departments on scene were: Manchester, Ridgeway, Lakehurst Vol, Joint Base, and New Egypt. Also on scene was Quality Medical Transport, the Ocean County Fire Marshal, and Manchester Police Detective. The Fire is under investigation.

Whiting Fire Company responded to a structure fire at 58 Cherry Street at 1:46 PM on February 2, 2013. Past Captain Paul Langone, was working on his families Blueberry Farm, next door. Langone quickly searched the house and rescued a resident who was sleeping in the bed room.  Upon arrival of the first truck, fire was coming out of an attic window along with heavy smoke. Crews quickly had the fire under control by 2:05pm, keeping the fire damage to mostly one room in the finished attic. New Egypt and Ridgeway Fire Company's Tankers were called due to the distance from a fire Hydrant. Lakehurst and Manchester Fire Companies also assisted on scene.

Early Morning Structure Fire

​December 24, 2012

Whiting fire company responded for mutual aid to a early morning structure fire approximately 0610 hours on december 24, 2012 in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township. The house was fully involved upon arrival. Whiting and Lakehurst Fire Companies attacked the structure from the back and provided structure protection. While Manchester and Ridgeway Fire Companies attacked from the front. With everyones effort the fire was under control by 0700. Thank God all family members were not hurt. Prays go out to the family...God bless.

Members Needed For Auxiliary

 Members are needed for the Whiting Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

Help is needed for our weekly bingo, monthly flee market and other small events. The Auxiliary is a big help financially to the Fire Company and needs to maintain members to work as efficiently as possible. Please call Diane at 732-350-4441. Your help would be much appreciated.
